adding a spear to your paragon would be a good start.

Paragon/Dervish

* This profession combination is not useful for a Paragon Primary.

Whoever wrote that on wiki doesn't know what he is talking about.

To the OP: Be motivated in what you are trying to do, and do let us know if you come across an interesting P/D build. I would also recommend you look at the dervish skill ebon dust aura, so that you can blind enemy melee before they even get to you.

yeah i agree with Mage, take a look at Ebon Dust Aura, i use a D/P build that uses some spear attacks and [Ebon Dust Aura] which can easially spam blind to a whole mob in a matter of seconds.

to answer the OP ...

spear attacks while under vow of strength will do more damage, but i don't see a build that will particularly suit it well. spear attack skills are potent for laying out conditions and +dmg, and without attack skills, you'd be auto-attacking. your core skills would probably be:

[Vow of Strength]["Go for the Eyes!"][Aggressive Refrain]

with earth prayers @ 9, spear mastery @ 11+1, leadership @ 8+1+1, and command @ 8+1
or whatever attributes you choose.

avoid shouts that trigger on next attack SKILLS because you won't use them.

as for the rest of the build, i suppose you'd be taking defensive skills from earth prayers, and utility skills from command/leadership.

While P/D is a workable class choice, but there is no reason a Paragon should wield a scythe or use [vow of strength] as his elite, as it is far outclassed by a dervish who can both spec higher into the attribute, and use a more effecient frontlining secondary.

If he wants to play a modded D/P build, he'll have to take into account two things, his 2 energy regen, and his ability for higher base spear damage.
If you can find a build that combines utility offered by dervish skills that are maintainable under a paragon's energy restraints (that or pump up leadership and use some shouts) and still allows the paragon to deal their amazing ranged dps, you're golden.

D/P != P/D

D/P can work with the high energy regen and good spec into earth prayers. For a P/D it's not nearly as effective.

sorry, i misread your original post and didn't realize you wanted to be a scythe wielding P/D.

in that case, assuming PvE only I'd try the following...

[Aura of Holy Might][Vow of Strength]["Go for the Eyes!"][Aggressive Refrain][Brawling Headbutt][Awe]["I Am the Strongest!"]

would be your core skills with earth prayers at 10, scythe at 12, command at 6+1, leadership at 6+1+1.

you might want to swap out something to include an energy-based shout or chant in order to keep up aggressive refrain out of combat.

In pve skills, there's the dwarven stance with about 15% ias and ims (don't have to maintain agressive refrain + no cracked armor).
Finish-him can help to finish targets, and dodge this could be used with burning echo.
